D. Scott LaQuay, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, Board Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Prof. Counselor
I have been working with children and adolescents, individually and in groups for more than 15 years, in a variety of treatment settings. I have counseled children and their families in private practice, community-based mental health, residential treatment and inpatient care. I have also worked with children and families within the foster care system in Bucks and Montgomery counties, and within the Philadelphia and Bucks county public schools.
I specialize in working with school-aged children and adolescents and provide a nurturing and non-threatening environment. Although I specialize in the use of art therapy, I will also utilize more conventional therapeutic techniques when appropriate/necessary. I believe in utilizing an individualized and positive approach with the children and families I work with.
I earned a Masters Degree in Art Psychotherapy from Hahnemann University. I am licensed as a professional counselor by the state of Pennsylvania, am nationally registered by the American Art Therapy Assoc. (AATA), and am Board Certified by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB). I am a professional member of both the American Art Therapy Assoc. and the Delaware Valley Art Therapy Assoc.
